When is the best month/week to go to Disney World Magic Kingdom as far as crowds?

    Hi Cindy,

How exciting that you're thinking about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There's no more magical place to enjoy time with loved ones where you're sure to make memories that will last a lifetime.

Finding a great time of year to visit is often one of the first thing that Guests think about when planning a Disney vacation. While crowd levels definitely vary throughout the year, one general rule of thumb is that school break times are going to bring higher crowd levels than visiting when most schools around the county are in session. You'll see crowds pick up during spring break, summer vacation, fall break, and Christmas vacation. If you have the flexibility to visit during a time when most kiddos are in school, you'll find lower crowds then. One big advantage to the new ticketing system is that it uses date-based pricing. If you play around with the ticketing calendar, you'll find that some arrival dates cost less than others. Generally speaking, the lower the price, the smaller you can expect the crowds to be.

While visiting during a slower time of year can certainly be advantageous, I personally think that it's much more valuable to have a general knowledge of the attractions and experiences your group would like to enjoy, come prepared with FastPass+ plans in place, and take advantage of some simple tips, like arriving early to the theme parks and using the My Disney Experience app or in-park kiosks to add additional FastPass+ selections once you've enjoyed your initial three. Those things will save you lots of time!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cindy, and please let us know what else we can help with as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
