What is the best way to go about planning your disney cruise? I have 2 children ages 5 and barely 7. my husband and I. This is out first cruise, am i supposed to plan everything before we get on the ship, or after we are onboard?

    Hi, Caleb!

Second only in fun to actually being on a Disney cruise is planning one! You and your family are going to have the time of your lives!

When considering a Disney Cruise Line (DCL) vacation, it's best to arm yourself with lots of information. First of all, go online to DisneyCruise.com to navigate through your various options. I like to head straight for the Find a Cruise Page under the Search for a Cruise tab on the home page. There you can plug in your specific information and preferences to see the possibilities and prices. If you'd like to talk to someone, you can call (800) 951-3532 and speak with a DCL Travel Specialist.  Or, you may want to consult with your local travel agent -- I like to visit my local AAA office.

Once you've decided when and where you would like to go, most of the planning is done.  The day-to-day schedule is really determined once you're on the ship when you receive your daily Personal Navigator (newsletter/ship's schedule) which is delivered to your stateroom. However, you may want to make a few plans prior to boarding, such as:

Once you've had a chance to look over your options, please come back and visit me here to ask more questions -- I'd be happy to help you. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
