What is the best use of our 3 FPs in each of the 4 parks? 7 & 5 yr old girls & 3 yr-old boy. All enjoy rides & shows. All fans of princesses (esp Frozen) and Disney Jr. 3 char meals planned so should we bother with character meet and greets? FP

    Emily:

I typically recommend to families with youngsters that they use at least one FastPass+ in each park for a meet-and-greet because these lines can be intolerably long for some children, and by the time you get to see Mickey, you've got a meltdown on your hands... But you've taken the wise option to getting pictures with the characters in booking a few Character Meals, one of the best ways to get some quality interaction with characters, especially for children who might get a little stage fright when posed in front of a Disney photographer.

With all that said, though, I would still use one of those coveted FP+ options to book the Anna and Elsa Meet-and-Greet at the Magic Kingdom. It is so popular that I would also recommend that you visit the Magic Kingdom toward the end of your trip because they are more available the farther you book out. For example, you'll be allowed to book FP+ for your vacation at 60-days out from your arrival day, but can book for any days during the entire length of your stay. If your visit to Magic Kingdom is at the end of your trip, you'll be booking 64 or more days out and more likely to get what you want. That leaves us with two more to spend in the Magic Kingdom. The other popular FP+ to get in that park are for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the parades. Again, long waits can be avoided for those with FP+.

    For the other parks:

    • Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safaris, Nemo--The Musical (for the seats), and Kali River Rapids
    • DHS: Toy Story Midway Mania, The Frozen Sing-along and Disney Junior
    • Epcot: Illuminations, Spaceship Earth and Nemo. If you think your children will be 40 inches or taller, consider booking an early Soarin' FP+ instead of Illuminations.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
