what would be the best deluxe resort for a couple in their mid 50's on club level's that would not have so much walking to dining and transportation areas..going in jan 2013, and do they do anything special if its your birthday at that time...thanks

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort fits the bill just right, Pamela.  Concierge rooms are located on the third, fourth, and fifth floors of the main building.  They are accessible only by private elevator and offer close proximity to the monorail station.  Rooms located in the main building are also very close to the majority of Grand Floridian's restaurants.  The bus stop is only a bit further away.  For guests looking to stay at concierge level with the least amount of walking, I think the Grand Floridian is a great choice.

Birthdays and other celebrations can be noted on room and dining reservations.  Results can vary, but guests are sometimes treated to special birthday treats.  I would definitely recommend noting the celebration.  Also, birthday buttons are complimentary and are available from Guest Services locations.  The birthday celebrant will likely be treated to well-wishes all the day long.  Enjoy!
