What is the best cruise for 2 families with 4 boys ages 6,4,3 and 1.5 yrs? Is there babysitting at night?

    Hi, Jenifer!

If you're considering a Disney Cruise Line vacation, you've come to the right place for "mom-next-door" advice.  I have four children, and we've cruised with them at various ages. For children ages 3+ (and bathroom trained), the Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab are included in the price of their cruise fares.  Basically, the youth clubs are open from morning until very late in the evening, and as long as the kids are registered (either online or onboard), you can check them in there for amazingly fun activities and events -- drop in and out. The coolest counselors at sea will make sure they are entertained and enchanted, and they'll even serve them meals and snacks, too. Late in the evening, they'll slow down the pace and prepare the little ones for the transition to bed time once the parents arrive for pick up.

For the toddler, there are nurseries aboard Disney ships which provide tender loving care to the tiniest cruisers.  You have to make reservations for the nursery, and there is a small hourly fee. This is a great service for parents who want to take some time away to enjoy adult activities such as the spa, adult bars and clubs, the quiet pool or fitness center, Port Adventures or dinner at Palo or Remy.

For two families with small children, I truly think that you can't go wrong with any Disney cruise. If you've never cruised, you may want to start with a 3- or 4-night itinerary, and the Bahamian ones which make a stop at Castaway Cay would make a great introduction to Disney cruises.  Believe me, you'll be back -- and you may never want to sail with any other cruise line. Disney has a way of raising one's standards!

Hopefully, this has pointed you in the right direction. Please come back and ask more questions if you need more help. I'd be happy to assist. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
