Hi Bernie! First solo trip. I want to try some new table service restaurants like Liberty Tree Tavern and maybe 50's Prime Time Cafe. I'm nervous to eat alone. I don't want to feel lonely and have people looking at me. Will I look silly?

    Hi Stacy!

I do solo trips all the time.  You won't have any problems, but I don't suggest doing a Disney Dining Experience, 50's Prime Time, or the Whispering Canyon Cafe.  All of those usually require guest interaction to be fun and while the characters and Disney Cast Members will interact with you as a solo traveler, I don't think it's much fun when you're on your own.  I suggest saving 50's Prime Time for another trip.  However, if you are really going there just to try the food, as opposed to wanting to experience the guest interaction, then you should know that there's a bar right at the front of the restaurant; you can sit there and order anything off of the restaurant menu.

Several of the restaurants have bars where you can sit and order off of the full menu if you don't want to sit alone at a table.  I've always enjoyed that because I love talking with the bar tender while eating.  That said, I also have done solo dining and have never felt silly or that people were looking at me... except... for once when I wasn't paying attention and arrived at Hollywood and Vine for character dining with Playhouse Disney characters; in hindsight, I should have gone to the Brown Derby!

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions about dining alone or solo traveling in general!
