    Ellen from KY Asked

Are there any benefits to getting Magic Bands is you are NOT staying on Disney property?

    Hi Ellen!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for bringing us this question about MagicBands. Whether you decide to stay on-site or off-site, MagicBands will add a touch of magic to your vacation and make your visit to the theme parks so much more convenient.

As a Guest staying off-site, there are benefits to using a MagicBand throughout your vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. You will be able to use your MagicBand to enter the theme parks and water parks (with a valid admission), check-in at FastPass+ attractions and connect Disney PhotoPass photos to your account. I love the touch-and-go convenience! You are correct that Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels do have a few additional uses for their MagicBands. For example, Guests staying on-site can use their MagicBands to unlock their Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms and can also use their MagicBands to purchase food and merchandise throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

If you decide to purchase MagicBands, you can do so ahead of your trip via the Shop Disney Parks app or by visiting the Disney Store online. You can also purchase MagicBands at select retail locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope this helps with your planning, Ellen! Please stop back again with any other questions. Have a magical day!
