Hello, I am beginning to plan a Surprise Visit to WDW for my 8 yo daughter. I am finding it very overwhelming. She cannot do a lot of bigger rides due to having spinal surgery; she can walk but will have a WC. I need starting point suggestions

How exciting that you are planning a surprise trip, Selena! Last fall, we surprised my eight-year-old son, who also uses wheelchair/stroller to tour the parks.  Don't be overwhelmed because we are here to help!

I think you will find this attraction category list informative.  There are attractions where your daughter must be able to transfer, while other attractions will allow her to remain in her wheelchair (if she chooses) during the experience.  Take a look at the Guide to Walt Disney World Resort A Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as it gives a detailed sensory description of attractions for each theme park.  I use both of these resources when planning our park days.

Here are a few of my son’s “must-do" attractions or shows for each park:
Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
EPCOT: Test Track, Soarin’, Spaceship Earth
Hollywood Studios: For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration and Fantasmic!
Animal Kingdom: Affection Station, It’s Tough to Be a Bug

I hope this gives you a starting point, and please let us know if we can answer other planning questions about your surprise trip!

    Have a magical day!
