Hi Beatrice! I will be giving birth in February to my first baby - a boy. We were thinking of taking him to Disney when he is about 6 months old. What things do you suggest to do with a child of that age while visiting Disney World?

Congratulations Angela on your upcoming baby.    I visited with my first child also around that same age (it was definitely before her first birthday).   I can tell you from my experience that while the baby slept a fair amount of the time, when awake she did enjoy a number of attractions and rides.  Particularly those that were colorful and on the slower side.

Of all the parks, Magic Kingdom seemed to offer the most options for that age.   I remember her looking around in amazement on rides like Small World.   Best of all, however, was the look on my daughter's face when she had pictures taken with Mickey Mouse.   What a huge smile although the child before was the exact opposite - scared.

One piece of advice, take full advantage of the baby care centers at the parks.  They offer great places to change babies and cool off a bit.   Also, if you are traveling with other adults - consider "baby swapping" where both adults can ride while the other watches your baby.    Just ask the cast members for how it works on various rides.    Best of luck!
