Hi there! We are going back to WDW this year and staying at the art of animation resort but the only dates they had available were from Dec 15-20 and we are concerned it's going to be too crowded since it's so close to Xmas. Should we change our dates?

    Hi Gabriela,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and sending us your question!  First of all, congratulations on booking your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation!  Due to the proximity to Christmas, the dates you have selected will be crowded, but I wouldn't necessarily switch your dates.  Disney's Art of Animation Resort is still relatively new, and it is very popular, with the rooms often still selling out before other Disney value resorts.  Also, the Holiday season is magical at Walt a disney World Resort, you will experience the spirit of the season while being in Walt Disney World so close to Christmastime.  The week you have chosen will be crowded, but you will miss the busiest time which is the weeks after you leave.

Walt Disney World Resort does a great job in managing crowds; more buses will be added for guest transportation allowing for less time waiting for the buses to and from your Disney Resort to the theme parks.  If you use Disney's FASTPASS system and make advanced dining reservations, you should be able to avoid some crowds too.

My final answer would have to be it will be crowded, but it is still magical.  My family and I visit in December every year and love it.  It will depend on your comfort level with crowds, but your dates will allow for plenty of Holiday Spirit and fabulous experiences!

Please let me know if you have any other questions Gabriela.  I would be happy to make your "Disney Time" even more magical!
