Hi all, just back from our 6th WDW vacation and now planning our first cruise. 3 families, kids aged 1-10. Wondering if worth having a room with balcony or ocean view is ok? will we spend time in the room? pls tell me pros/cons of those rooms. thanks

Welcome aboard, Mona, and welcome home from the Walt Disney World Resort! I think you'll agree that it's bittersweet to leave Walt Disney World after a fun week, but starting to plan your next Disney vacation makes it a bit easier! I'm glad to hear you'll be planning a cruise with Captain Mickey and his crew!

Take a look at Disney Cruise Line's Find A Cruise page and play around with the different dates, ships and itineraries to find one that looks right for your budget. If a verandah stateroom is in the mix, go for it. It's so nice to have your own space outside to sit in the morning or late and night and enjoy the views. My family loves to order from the complimentary room service menu and have a relaxing breakfast on the verandah. However, if the price holds you back, by all means, book an Oceanview stateroom. We love the beautiful view and the kids think the porthole is pretty cool! Plus, with young children, you'll be off exploring the ship most of the time and won't spend that much time in the stateroom. We rarely hang out in the stateroom, except to get ready for the day and get showered and changed in the late afternoon to head out to dinner. There are so many exciting Family Activities, Adult Activities and Youth Clubs to explore, you won't want to be sitting around in the stateroom too much!

Honestly, our family would prefer to not sail in the fanciest room each time so we can save that money and cruise more often! We love the Oceanview staterooms and would not hesitate to recommend booking one, and we do ourselves quite often! Plus, there are plenty of spots on deck to enjoy the warm weather and tropical breezes, a verandah isn't the only option! The stateroom size is about the same, and you'll still have the split baths which make getting ready a snap! I hope those details help as you plan, Mona! Stop back if you have other questions! I'm happy to help!
