Food and Wine runner crossing finish line with Mickey and Minnie

Back in 2014, I ran the wine and dine half marathon and was able to catch race day transportation from Disney springs. For the upcoming 2018 wine & dine race and for 2019 marathon weekend, will there be shuttles from Disney springs to the race starts?

    Hi Ellen,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

Transportation options change frequently at Walt Disney World Resort, and the logistics surrounding transportation during runDisney race weekends can often be tricky. Because of this, there can be last-minute changes to schedules and transportation options, so it’s tough for me to tell you with any certainty whether there will be a direct transportation option from Disney Springs to the start of the various races for both the 2018 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend and the 2019 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.

That being said, from what I understand, there was transportation between Disney Springs and the runDisney Expo for the most recent edition of both of those races, but I don’t believe that there was a direct transportation option on the various race mornings from Disney Springs

My suggestion would be to come up with a transportation option that allows you to bypass Disney Springs, just in case it’s not available this year. And remember, if you’re staying at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you’re staying in a “host resort” which means that complimentary motor coach transportation will be available to you to get to your morning races.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
