Back again for some expert advice and answers. DH and are will be at WDW in may for our 6 anniv, we are staying at AKL for the first time. So excited. Can anyone who has stayed there tell me a little about the resort and activities? Thanks can't wait.

    Hi Lisa,

You are in for such a treat! I absolutely love the Animal Kingdom Lodge! I've stayed in both the Jambo House and Kidani Village and you can't go wrong with either one.

The resort is absolutely breathtaking. From the moment you walk into the highly themed lobby, you will feel as though you're in Africa. You'll encounter one of the largest collections of African art in the United States. I could spend hours just admiring it all. The 4 separate savannas have beautiful animals roaming them. If you are able to rent a savanna view room I highly recommend it, as waking up to giraffe and zebra off your balcony is pretty amazing. I've also stayed in a regular room though, and you'll still be thrilled with that as you can see animals from nearly every turn in the hallways.

The dining at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is incredible. In fact, Boma - Flavors of Africa is my husband's favorite restaurant on Disney property. Be sure to try the salmon and the "zebra domes". Yum! Sanaa is fantastic as well.

You'll love both of the themed pools! I could spend days just relaxing pool side. Actually, I have and I'm dreaming of being back there right now.

Be sure to borrow some night vision binoculars from the front desk, as spotting the animals at night is a lot of fun! I highly recommend the Sunrise Safari as well since the animals are most active in the morning.

Wishing you a wonderful Anniversary! Please let me know if I can assist you further,
