Is Baby Swap uncommon? On my last visit (2 weeks ago!), I asked a CM at EPCOT about it but she had no idea what I was talking about. I spent the day sitting on a bench with my baby. Our next visit is in September so I'm concerned.

    Hi Laura!

I'm so sorry that this happened to you!  It's actually called Rider Switch, but I've heard the terms "baby swap" , "rider swap, and "baby switch" used.  Regardless, you may have met up with a new Castmember, or a Castmember who is new to working the rides.

If this happens in September (and I don't think it will), please ask a different Castmember, or insist that the Castmember you are speaking with doublecheck with someone else.  Also, keep in mind that if the ride does not specify an age or height limit, it should be safe for you to ride with the baby.  I took my son to Disney for the first time when he was 3 months old and that's the guideline I used.

I hope that you have a wonderful time at Disney World.  If you have any other questions, please visit us again at the Moms Panel.

Magic Kingdom still takes my breath away, but my favorite place to be is on a Disney ship looking at the horizon and breathing in that crisp, clean ocean air!  I love planning Disney vacations for others and making sure it's more than they dreamed. Learn More About Marisol
