What are the average waiting times at Disneyland during peak days?

Hi again, Evelyn! I am so glad to help you with another question about the Disneyland Resort!

If there is one thing I’ve learned from visiting the Disneyland Resort over the years is that crowd levels and wait times can be very unpredictable. I’ve been to the parks during what were historically off-peak times only to experience crowds so large that we decided to go swim at the hotel instead. But, I’ve also been during some of the supposed busiest times of year and easily walked right on to some attractions. To answer your question, though, if you are planning on visiting during the holiday season which is consistently a very popular time to visit, I would plan on waiting about 10-20 minutes longer for most attractions than you would during other times of the year and probably even longer for thrill attractions and any with special overlays like “it’s a small world” Holiday.

However, if you plan ahead, I have no doubt that you can still see and do all your favorites during your visit to the parks. I suggest starting your days early and taking advantage of any early admission options you may have available to you. Crowds are lowest first thing in the morning and you can usually get a ton done in the early hours. Make efficient use of the Disney FASTPASS Service or consider upgrading to Disney MaxPass. Finally, if you find that attraction wait times are little longer than you would like, see a show like Frozen – Live at the Hyperion or explore the Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island or The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

There is always magic to be discovered at the Disneyland Resort beyond attractions, so plan to seek out some new and interesting things during your next visit!
