My autistic son is 11 and will only eat limited food (chicken/fries mostly). As I'm looking at the menus all of them say 9 and under for the children's menu. He won't eat many entries off the adult menu. For sit down dinners what will my options be? Thanks

    Hi Michelle!

My son who is 15 often doesn't like what is offered on the adult menu so he orders from the children's menu. Most restaurants in Walt Disney World will let you purchase a kids meal for kids older than ages 3 to 9 or even if they are considered an adult. It is really up to that particular restaurant so it doesn't hurt to ask. It has been my experience that around 90% of the Walt Disney World restaurants that I have eaten at with my son have let me do this exact thing. You can ask for a larger portion of a kid's meal for a nominal additional fee or you can order two kids meals (typically under $20.00 total for both kid's meals which is cheaper than an adult meal) like my son does. For Buffets, Character Meals, and Dinner Shows you will have to pay full adult price for the meal. Another option if a particular restaurant will not allow ordering off a children's menu for your son would be to make a special request for an adult meal of chicken and fries (if it is on the children's menu then it is highly likely that they will serve an adult portion of it even if it is not on the adult menu when you ask).

I hope that all of your meals are magical on your next Walt Disney World vacation!
