Hi from Australia. We'll be on the Wonder 30 Aug and are booked into the second dinner seating. Do the 7 & 8 year olds eat with us or can they go back to the Oceaneer Club? How late are the kids clubs open?

    Hi, Sally!

My family and I just returned from the Disney Wonder to Alaska a few days ago, and we had the time of our lives!  In fact, we had so much fun that we missed our first seating dinner a couple of times (around 5:45 p.m.) when we were in port.  All aboard in Skagway and Ketchikan wasn't until 7:30 p.m., and believe me, you're going to want every minute you can get to plan the amazing and unique port adventures.

With all that said, you're not at a disadvantage by being scheduled for the second dinner seating. You have several options for feeding your children in the evening, and we've tried them all. Because some of our adventures were rugged and our younger children weren't interested in dressing for dinner, we fed them room service while we dressed for dinner. They shuffled off to the kids' clubs while we lingered over dinner with our older kids.  Also, there is a great service provided by the youth club counselors in which they will meet and escort the children to the clubs about an hour after the second seating has commenced. The kids can eat their main course while you enjoy an appetizer. Also, there are several quick options on Deck 9 including Beach Blanket Buffet where the kids can grab some dinner before enjoying the kids' clubs.

Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab usually stay open way later than we've ever taken advantage of -- sometimes midnight or 1 a.m.  They have quiet areas for those kids winding down for the evening or even wanting to catch a few winks while mom and dad are out playing, too. I hope that helps give some ideas. You are going to have a life-changing experience -- cruising with your family to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder. Having just experienced it, I am beyond thrilled for you!

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
