I will be attending Walt Disney World May 27th-June 1st. I did see that Memorial Day weekend is high on attendance but how bad are we talking? I can't wait but I'm nervous now that my unfortunately, short vacation there will be waisted in lines.

    Hi Natalie,

If I had the choice between going to Walt Disney World during its busy holiday seasons or not at all, I'd be packing my bags without hesitation.  Walt Disney World's theme parks are magical even on the busiest of days.  As long as you travel with reasonable expectations on those days, you will still have a fabulous time.

There are a few strategies I would suggest on theme park days with high attendance:

    1.  Arrive BEFORE the park opens.  If you are ready to enter when the first guests are permitted admission to the park, you will be able to grab those much sought-after fast passes (like the ones for Toy Story Mania in Disney's Hollywood Studios).

    2.  Take an early lunch.  If you eat at 11:00-11:30 am, you will avoid the lengthy lines at Disney quick service restaurants that appear after 11:30 am.

    3.  Shop mid-day in the air-conditioned stores while most others are in long attraction lines.

    4.  Find your preferred parade or fireworks viewing spots an hour before the big events.

    5.  Rest up before heading out on vacation so that you will have enough energy to stay late in the parks, if you so desire.  This is another great time to enjoy shorter lines than mid-day.

Wishing you a vacation at Walt Disney World!
