Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

We are attending the special ticketed event at MK the after hours party. Our night it runs 10p-1a with official park closing at 10p. Could we catch Kiss Goodnight at 10:30? Or would it start 1:30a?

Hi, TeAnn! One thing I encourage my friends to do while visiting Walt Disney World Resort is to not rush and enjoy even the simple magic that surrounds them every day. My personal favorite sprinkling of pixie dust in the theme parks are found during the evening hours. Magic Kingdom Park's Kiss Goodnight is one such hidden evening gem. The twinkling of lights in the walkways behind Spaceship Earth in Epcot is another. If you look closely, you'll see that some in the walkways to the side of that main path feature multicolored lights! At Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you can enjoy the glowing bioluminescence in The Valley of Mo'ara within Pandora: The World of Avatar and also the Tree of Life Awakenings. There are plenty more magical moments to be found across the parks, so be sure to let the pixie dust find you!

Let's chat about that Kiss Goodnight you are seeking. This usually happens around 30 minutes after the park officially closes for the evening. Cinderella Castle goes dark for a second and then begins to glow with shimmering "kisses" for all the guests as they bid farewell to a magical day. In my experience, this tends to not happen on evenings when the park hosts hard-ticketed events such as Disney After Hours. Schedules can always change, so I encourage you to check with Cast Members during your day in Magic Kingdom Park to see if they are planning to do the Kiss Goodnight that evening. If you do really want to experience this sweet moment, then you may want to plan to stop by Magic Kingdom Park one evening when it is not hosting an event.

Thanks for stopping by to chat with us and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted adventures!
