I am attending a convention at Disney world in July staying at Coronado, My question is- what dining or entertainment options are available to me without having to purchase a park ticket?

    Hi Robert,

Two words for you: Disney Springs! You'll find a huge variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options at the newly expanded and re-imagined Disney Springs complex, just a short, direct bus ride from the Coronado Springs resort.

For entertainment, see Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba, bowl at Splitsville, catch a concert at House of Blues, watch a film at AMC Movies 24 or ride an Amphicar. At Raglan Road restaurant, you can see an Irish dancing show along with your meal.

Disney Springs has more than 50 dining options, from quick serve to fine dining. Among my favorite restaurants that have opened at Disney Springs in the last year or so: Morimoto Asia, Frontera Cocina, Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', STK Orlando and The Boathouse.

Or head to the Boardwalk for dinner, drinks or a visit to Jellyrolls or Atlantic Dance Hall. There's free nightly entertainment along the boardwalk as well.

I also highly recommend the restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge: Jiko, Boma and Sanaa. All are among my family's favorites anywhere in the Walt Disney World resort. Plus, you can see giraffes, zebras and other animals on the savannah while you're there.

Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge are not far from Coronado Springs, but there is not direct bus service. You would need to transfer at Disney Springs or one of the theme parks. The easiest direct route is by taxi or Uber.

I hope that gives you some great ideas, Robert. Please let us know if you need more details or have other questions. Enjoy!
