Hello, We are attending AAU Volleyball Nationals at ESPN WW of Sports June 20-23rd. What resort would be the most convenient for transportation to/from the event? Are there specials for the teams to stay on the park? What about park ticket packages ?

    Hi Kylie!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're so glad that you found us hEAR, and it is my pleasure to assist you today!

When it comes to Youth Sporting Events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, a lot of the details are determined by the organizing host of each event. I was able to find the details page for this specific competition by Googling "AAU Volleyball Nationals"; I clicked the first link listed, and scrolled down to the black bar that says 'Travel Info - Click Here'. On the right side in this section are links for Disney Resort Hotel and Disney Theme Park Ticket info. Here is what I found for your group:

~ Click the 'Disney Resort Hotel' button and you'll see that there are two Walt Disney World Resort Hotels with contracted rates for this event. They are Disney's All-Star Sports Resort as well as Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Both of these resorts have special rates starting at two-nights going up to six, and these prices include a round of Miniature Golf for each person staying in each room! But it also looks like teams coming in for this competition are not required to stay at either of these resort hotels. If you'd like more information about these contracted options, OR to try to book another Disney Resort Hotel for just your group, please call Disney Sports Travel at (407) 939-7810. You even have the option to add a Disney Dining Plan to your Disney Resort Hotel Reservation!

~ While still on the screen for the describing the two event-contracted Disney Resort Hotels, click the blue "Pricing Information" link by each hotel name to see all of your options for Disney Theme Park Tickets. These range from 2-day Base Tickets to 4-Day Park Hopper Plus tickets, which include admission to Disney's two Water Parks.

~ It looks like there are currently two different competition sites, one being the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and the other is the Orange County Convention Center. There's a note that says teams may have competitions at one or both locations, with a side note that more venue options may be added as needed.

~ There is also a note that 'Guests must provide own transportation to event location.' While there is limited Disney Resort Bus Transportation from Disney's All-Star Sports Resort to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, it usually requires a transfer at either Disney Springs or a Disney Theme Park and can take up to 90 minutes. Pair this with the multiple game locations, and I personally would either rent a vehicle or inform your team of this info so they can start making plans to charter a team bus now.

I hope this information helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Kylie, and We'll See You and your Volleyball Mouseketeers Real Soon!
