I was under the assumption that the week starting Dec. 5 was a slower time in the parks, but when I searched dates with the WDW resorts, only the luxury resorts have rooms available. Is there something going on that week or is it normally that busy?

    Hi Amy,

You're right the beginning of December is typically a quiet time of the year to visit Walt Disney World. The reason why you're having trouble finding lower priced accommodation is because Pop Warner will be holding their annual football, dance and cheerleading events then. More than 60 teams will meet at Disney's Wide World of Sports and the children and their chaperones tend to stay in the value and moderate resorts. The teams do visit the parks during their stay but for the most part they will be busy elsewhere. They can get quite noisy at the resorts though so I would definitely recommend you ask at the time of booking if Pop Warner will be staying at the hotel you're booking!

You can see more details on the event at www.popwarner.com

I hope that helps and you have a great trip,

    Jo
