We will be arriving at WDW on 10/21 with our 6 yr old son and 3 yr old daughter. We have the delux dining plan and staying at POR. Trying to decide between T-Rex and Boatwrights for dinner on the 1st night. Any suggestions, or other ideas?

    Hi John!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort so I think you made a great choice!  Boatwrights is low key and small.  I enjoy dining there, but I think for your first night, you should definitely head down to Downtown Disney.  It is very easy to get there from Port Orleans Riverside because there is a boat connecting the two!  The boat ride is a lot of fun, especially at night!

T-Rex is a favorite of children, but it can be extremely noisy and loud in there.  If your children are okay with loud noises, then I say go for it.  Another option is the Rainforest Cafe, but it really isn't that much quieter there.  Unfortunately, the other restaurants are more adult oriented, though they still welcome children!  They just aren't as much "fun" as T-Rex or the Rainforest Cafe.  My favorite restaurants in Downtown Disney are Paradiso 37 and Raglan Road.  To see their menus, including prices, I suggest heading over to the independent website AllEars.Net.  Just click on Walt Disney World and then dining.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
