we will be arriving at WDW the week after my daughters 4th birthday. Will the still celebrate it the same? We really want her to get the most out of her first trip to the Magic Kingdom.

    Hi Ben,

I can't think of a better place to celebrate a 4th birthday than at the Magic Kingdom!  Don't worry that your daughter's actual birthday doesn't coincide exactly with your vacation.  It will be magical nonetheless!  I would recommend starting your visit with a stop at Guest Relations, where you can request a free birthday pin.  Have your daughter wear it proudly, and she'll be amazed at how many cast members wish her a happy birthday.  You might also consider making reservations for a character meal to celebrate her big day.  If you would like to stay inside the park, I recommend Crystal Palace, where Winnie the Pooh and his pals make the rounds while guests dine.  Chef Mickey's is another fabulous choice.  It is located at the Contemporary Resort, which is a short walk or monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom.  Here Mickey and his pals will wish your little girl a happy birthday as your family enjoys what I believe to be "the" quintessential Disney character dining experience.  Finally, if you have a budding princess, you might want to surprise her with a reservation at Cinderella Castle.  As you can imagine, all of these meals are quite popular, so I recommend making reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

There are many other things you can do to add a bit of extra pixie dust to your daughter's birthday visit in addition to the attractions and parades at the parks.  You might consider taking her to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a princess transformation.  Or, you can order a special occasion birthday cake to be delivered directly to your table at a Disney restaurant by calling the cake hotline at 407-827-2253.  Finally, if you are staying at a Disney resort, you can order an in-room celebration complete with balloons, gifts from the characters and even a birthday banner by visiting www.disneyflorist.com.

I hope your daughter has a birthday as magical as she is!
