We are arriving next week and staying at Pop Century. I have heard there is a new preferred parking option for the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. How much does it cost for a resort guest? Can we buy it ahead of time, either before we arrive or at our hotel?

Hi Sharon! Your trip is here and you must be so excited!

Disney began a new parking option for all guests to their parks last year as a test. As of now it still remains an option but could change at any time. My husband and I used this Preferred Parking last fall and the price has gone up since then. If you are a registered resort guest parking at the theme parks is included. Preferred parking costs guests $40 a day while regular parking is $20. This means you as a registered resort guest would pay the $20 difference.

The parking fee is a one time fee per day so if you choose to go to several parks you will not have to pay each time for that one day. With the preferred parking you will be guided to a lot that is close to the entrance and within walking distance so you won't need to hop on a tram. When we used this last year we were also offered a bottle of water to enjoy which was a nice touch.

As off this past fall you could not pay for this feature anywhere but at the entrance booths to the parks. You were given a card to hang from your mirror which allowed the parking attendants to know you were a Preferred parking guest. They would then direct you to the correct lot. Hope this helps answer your questions and hope you have a wonderful vacation!
