Arriving at MCO at 10:10, if flight is on time will we have time to take ME to AKL and get to Chef Mickey's for 12:25 lunch? Thx, so excited to hopefully kick off vacation at Chef Mickeys, haven't been there since I was a little kid.

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question!

If I understand your question correctly, your flight arrives at Orlando International Airport at 10:10 AM and you’re hoping to make it to lunch at Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort by 12:25 PM. To be honest, you’re cutting it really close. Assuming everything goes smoothly and you have little to no delays, it can take at least 90 minutes (after landing) to get to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel by taking Disney’s Magical Express. This doesn’t include the check-in process, which means you’ll definitely be short on time. If possible, I would try to push lunch back until at least 1:00 PM in order to be safe.

I understand that you have your heart set on starting your vacation at Chef Mickey’s so, if you can’t get a later reservation, you have a few options. First, when you arrive, go to the Disney’s Magical Express check-in counter, tell them that you have a dining reservation and ask to go to Disney’s Contemporary Resort instead of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would also try contacting Disney’s Magical Express prior to your departure in order to see whether they can accommodate you. If that doesn’t work, I would recommend taking a taxi or an Uber straight to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

I hope I’ve given you enough information to ensure that you’ll have a delicious start to your vacation, Jennifer! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
