We will be arriving February 9th, 2015. My daughter will be turning 13 on the 12th. Can you suggest somewhere to eat that has a little bit of more grown up feel? We did a lot of the character dining back in 2009 when she was 7.

    Hi Heather,

Happy birthday to your young lady.

I have three teenage daughters. They LOVE trying out all the "fancy" restaurants at Walt Disney World.

I think what you're looking for to celebrate the big 13th milestone birthday is one of Disney's signature dining restaurants. These offer impeccable service, gourmet food, and terrific wine lists (for mom and dad), but still have the needs of families in mind.

Some of my daughters' favorite signature restaurants at Walt Disney World are:

-Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Familiar foods with an African flare.
    - Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge. Classic American Northwest Food in a classy but comfortable environment.
    - California Grill at the Contemporary. Sushi and California inspired dishes. As an added bonus, there are terrific views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks in the evening.
    - Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Terrific Cobb salad and grapefruit cake.

If you're in the mood to really splurge, you could try taking your daughter to the ultra posh Victoria & Albert's restaurant in the Grand Floridian. Guests under age 10 are not allowed, so right away the place has a grown-up feel to it. This is one of the finest restaurants in the state of Florida.

My daughters have been here several times and have always been treated with great respect by the staff. This has been a fantastic learning opportunity for them as well as an AMAZING meal.

Please let us know if you need additional information. We're happy to help.
