We will be arriving at DW on Dec 31, 2012. We will not be visiting any of the parks that day. I have made reservations at Chef Mickey's for dinner. Does the Contemporary Resort have a good spot to watch the fireworks for New Year's Eve after our dinner?

    Hi Misty,

Oh, I love this question!  I'm going to share with you my favorite place to watch fireworks in all of Walt Disney World.  After your dinner at Chef Mickey's, hop on the monorail to Disney's Polynesian Resort.  The views of the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular above Cinderella Castle are much better from that resort and it only takes a few minutes to get there from Chef Mickey's.  When you arrive at Disney's Polynesian Resort, proceed through the Great Ceremonial House and out onto the beach.  You can see not only Wishes but also the Electrical Water Pageant there nightly.  It is such an enchanting place to spend an evening at Walt Disney World.

Wishing you a magical New Year's Eve celebration!
