We're arriving during the middle of January, 2018. Any advice on what to expect during that time of year regarding crowds, dining reservations flexibility, weather and lines?

    Hi Jennifer,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Your trip is coming up so soon; you must be getting very excited! I am happy to share some information with you about Walt Disney World in mid-January.

First, in terms of other guests visiting, January tends to be a fairly moderate month in my experience. I would say that the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which falls on January 15 in 2018, will likely be busier as many people have a three-day weekend that weekend. Especially if you are visiting during that weekend, and really for any time, I suggest that you take advantage of the Disney FastPass+ system, which will allow you to choose a few attractions each day to experience with shorter wait times. I also always suggest that guests make dining reservations for any dining locations that you know you would like to experience. This means that you will be sure to have a table at the restaurants that you want at the time that you want.

As to weather, in January you can expect the high temperature to be in the low 70's Fahrenheit. This is a bit cool for Florida, but means that you will likely be very comfortable and not too hot! I find that long pants and a short or long-sleeve shirt work well for me, and then I carry a sweater or light jacket for when it cools off in the evening.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts will be occurring while you are at Walt Disney World. I recommend that you check out this fun festival, which includes great performing and visual arts, and so much more!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Jennifer! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
