We will be arriving to Disney World late on our first day, like 9pm. Does our dining plan start on the 1st day of the resort reservations? If so, will that day automatically become “leftover” that will need to make up for in snacks at the end of our trip?

    Hey there, Jennifer!

As exciting as a trip to Walt Disney World can be, there are a lot of little things to take into consideration. How to use your Disney Dining Plan is one of those little things that can become a big thing if it's causing you stress. Let's see if we can get you sorted out.

The credits on your Disney Dining Plan are based on the number of nights you are staying at your Walt Disney World resort hotel. The credits are good through the entire day on the day you check out. While you won't be arriving at your resort until late in the day on your first day, the credits don't necessarily become "leftovers", as they are still usable throughout your vacation.

Some guests might use that first night's credit for a last day's meal - breakfast or lunch if you have an evening flight. Others would use the "extra" credit towards a 2-credit signature dining experience. If you've already made your dining reservations, you may know if you run into a situation where you need that extra credit for another meal.

Since most dining plans give you credits for two meals per day, you can use the credit towards a third meal one of the days. This is especially helpful if you eat an early breakfast at your resort so you can do a morning extra magic hours - you might get super hungry by lunch!

Have a wonderful time on your upcoming vacation, Jennifer!
