We will be arriving at our Disney Resort this Saturday July 7, 2018, I have a child who is in a walking boot, are there any special accommodations at the Disney Parks?

    Hi Jamie,

Your trip will be here in just a few short days, and you must be getting so excited!

I'm sorry to hear that your child will be dealing with a walking boot during vacation. Rest assured that you will all still have a wonderful time. I had a walking boot several years ago during a 12-day trip to Walt Disney World Resort. The toughest part for me was how hot my foot and lower leg got in the boot. Additionally, standing in lines for extended periods can be uncomfortable for someone in a boot. Disney Parks offers a Disability Access Service for guests who require special accommodations. This includes guests who find that they are unable to tolerate long waits in line for a medical reason. You will want to note that this service does not enable you to skip the line. Instead, you get a return time and you can wait on a bench or elsewhere instead of standing all of that time. I recommend familiarizing yourself with the Disability Access Service just in case you find that you need to use it for your family. Hopefully the Pixie Dust that is in the air will help your child to completely forget about the boot, and they can just focus on making magical memories. Often, kids adapt very quickly to walking boots, crutches, and wheelchairs and they handle it much better than adults.

I hope this helps and that your child heals quickly and completely.

    Wishing you magical memories together,

    Kaylene
