Hi, arriving in 160 days but who's counting? Staying Club Level CR, do I tip "mousekeeping and turndown? Do I tip Concierge services? I'm not against tipping all who make my stay magical. Any advice on amounts too, would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Amy and thanks for bringing this great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Tipping who, when, where, and how much is a long standing debate amongst travelers. You will find almost as many answers to these questions as there are people. In my opinion, it is a nice gesture to tip "mousekeeping," especially if your family is like ours- we have been known to leave our room looking like a tornado ripped through it!. When I tip mousekeeping, I tend to leave a dollar per person staying in the room each day. While I have never personally tipped for turndown, I have read guides which suggest a dollar per night. If you do decide to tip for either mousekeeping or turndown, I recommend making it very clear that the tip is for the service. We either write a quick thank you note and place the money on it or prepare envelopes and label them so there is no confusion.

As for concierge, I do not tip if it is a simple question/answer situation such as "what time does the pool close." But, if the concierge actually provides a service, making a reservation or solving a difficult problem, I would tip five dollars.

I hope this helps with your planning. If you have more questions, come on back to the Panel- we love to help!

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Anne, Iowa

I’m Anne, a native Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother. For me, a major part of the fun of a Disney trip is the planning. I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. While I can’t pick my funniest Disney memory – either my 70-year-old mother on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or my 4-year-old grandson on Dinosaur – I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures.
