We're arriving on Christmas Day as a surprise for the kids.We wont be arriving in Orlando until after 6pm.We are trying to decide dinner options and if we can squeeze in a park at night. How long does the magical express take to get to Boardwalk Inn.

    Dear Ami,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for thinking of us with your great planning question!

What an amazing surprise for your family to travel to Walt Disney World Resort on Christmas Day!

You mentioned that you arrive after 6pm that evening, so if you arrive before 7pm, that should have you to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room by 8pm or so by the time you collect your luggage, wait for Disney's Magical Express, and drive there (and of course these are just estimates, many things could change). If I was you, I would make an Advanced Dining Reservation and then turn in for the night to get an early start in the morning! Starting off your first night of vacation with sleepy children can quickly turn sour. The latest a park is open that evening is Epcot until 10:30pm, if that helps at all. If you really wanted to head over there immediately upon arrival at Disney's Boardwalk Inn, you could definitely enjoy a couple of hours in the park and perhaps have dinner there, but with all of the excitement and travel of the day it might make more sense to make an Advanced Dining Reservation somewhere at Disney's Boardwalk and then be up early for your first full day of magic the next morning!

Hope that helps with your planning!
