Am arriving approx 9 AM on June 22, 2008 and have dinner res @ Crystal Palace @ 5 PM. Do we have enough time to visit a water park? Not sure about the time it will take to get from the airport to Caribbean Beach Resort, then go to and from water park.

    Let’s start with your arrival.

Visit the Magical Express counter in Terminal B, Level 1 to check in at the Disney Airport Welcome Center. You’ll then be assigned a bus. This is a shared bus service so you will likely make several stops. Allow at least an hour to get to your resort, including the wait time for your bus.

Just remember that in busier seasons (such as the summer) that your wait for a Magical Express bus might be longer.  If you are using Magical Express to transport your luggage from the airport to your room, make sure you have packed your water park or theme park gear in a carry-on bag.

Allow about an hour to travel to either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. You’ll need the same amount of time to return to the Caribbean Beach Resort.  Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Since, the Crystal Palace restaurant is in the Magic Kingdom, you’ll need time to get there too. From your resort it’ll take about 50 minutes and from either water park it could take 50-60 minutes. Please note that all the times are approximate. If a bus pulls right up, you could be on your way quicker. If you depart during a busy time, the waits could be longer.

Plan what works best for your family. I would recommend not traveling around WDW so much on your first day. I think you might be stressed trying to travel back and forth to the water park and still make your dinner reservation. With arriving the water park later in the morning/early afternoon, it’ll be immensely crowded. You could relax at your resort and head to the water park later in the afternoon when the crowds depart and stay there until closing.

The Magic Kingdom is open until 11 p.m. with evening Extra Magic Hours for resort guests from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. Consider relaxing at your resort pool, then heading to dinner at the Crystal Palace followed by a Magic Kingdom evening.

I hope that wherever your plans take you…that you have a magical first day in WDW.
