We arrive from UK to Orlando International so would need to collect our luggage to take with us on Disney Magical Express to Saratoga Springs. My question... How much time would we save by getting a taxi or do you recommend Magical Express every time?

    Hi Jill,

Since you are arriving on an international flight, regardless of whether you take a taxi or Disney's Magical Express, you will need to collect your own luggage and go through customs.  So that time is equal either way.  Let's consider the pros and cons of taking Disney's Magical Express versus a taxi from the point at which you arrive at the ground transportation area at Orlando International Airport.

The biggest advantage of Disney's Magical Express is that it is free of charge.  The motorcoaches are really nice; you even get to see a video about Walt Disney World as you head to your resort.  The downside to Disney's Magical Express is that it can take a while.  Once you arrive at Disney's Magical Express at Orlando International Airport, you may need to wait for guests in front of you, or for your motorcoach to fill with guests once you are on it.  Once you arrive at Walt Disney World resort, you may not be the first stop - the motorcoach may stop at other resorts first to drop off other guests.  All told, this may take around 90 minutes - I usually tell guests to budget between one and two hours for your trip on Disney's Magical Express.

The biggest advantage of a taxi is saving time.  The drive between Orlando International Airport and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa should be about 30 minutes.  Even if it takes you a little while to get a taxi, I would think that door to door it would be no more than 45 minutes.  The disadvantage here, of course, is that you will have to pay for a taxi.

The question is would you rather spend a little more time (Disney's Magical Express) or a little more money (taxi) on your ride to Walt Disney World.  I think this is a personal decision for every family.

I hope that these thoughts help with your decision, Jill.  Have a wonderful time planning your trip, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any other questions!
