We arrive on a Sunday and I am trying to decide whether to go to Downtown Disney OR to the Not So Scary Halloween Party. We currently have reservations at TRex at 3pm and could do Disney Quest after Or nix that and do the party. Which to do?!?!

    Hi Heather,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Its always fun to plan the first evening of a Disney vacation. I personally LOVE Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP).  Its an awesome event only held a few dates in the fall & is great fun for the whole family. Click here for more details on this spooktacular event.

DisneyQuest is also lots of fun & would be very convenient for you after your prehistoric meal at T-Rex Cafe.  It features five floors of virtual fun that puts you in the middle of some of your favorite Disney adventures.

I'm not sure if you have kids in your family & how old they will be during your visit. I think MNSSHP is great for all ages but some teenage boys may prefer DisneyQuest over MNSSHP. If your kids are younger, I'd vote for MNSSHP. You can always do DisneyQuest on a future trip no matter what time of the year you visit.

There are a couple of other things you may want to think about before making your final decision. If your kids are younger, will they be worn out after traveling to Disney? MNSSHP is from 7 p.m. - midnight.  If you don't think you'll be able to stay more than 2 or 3 hours before your kids need to go to sleep, you may not feel its worth the extra money for MNSSHP.

Also think about what you have planned on Monday. If you are getting up early and plan a long day in the parks, will your kids be able to handle it since the day before would be filled with travel, dinner and MNSSHP?

If you think you're kids can handle it, go for MNSSHP and conquer DisneyQuest later during your trip or on a future visit!  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
