Arrive 11/17/12, staying at AOA. ADR @ 11am @ Planet Hollywood. What do you recommend, check in and then DD or give suggestions? What time would we need to leave AOA to get to DD and best way to go? Also have ADR @ CM 5:40 same day. Same ? as above?

    Hi, Felicia!

What a great arrival day you have planned for Day 1 of your Walt Disney World extravaganza! Wow!

If you can utilze Walt Disney World's Online Check-In system, I suggest that you do this prior to your arrival. (You can do so when it's within 10 days of your arrival. This will enable you to add a credit card to your account, have your Key to the World Cards pre-printed and all of your other welcome materials assembled and put aside for you prior to your arrival. What a time-saver!

If you arrive early enough at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, you could certainly pick up your check-in materials (including your parking permit) then either drive over to Downtown Disney for your lunch at Planet Hollywood or hop onto a Resort Bus. Should you wish to drive, all of the roads are well signed from AoA, but here's the road map of Walt Disney World, which will help you to navigate the 15-20 minute drive to DD. Just a few turns on Victory Way and Buena Vista Drive will get you to DD. It's easy!

Spend some time at Magic Kingdom, too, since you have a dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's. If you drive to your meal with the head Mouse, you can park at Disney's Contemporary Resort; just let the Guard at the parking lot know your reservation # to gain access to parking at the resort. You could also enjoy complimentary parking at any of the parks, as long as you have your parking permit displayed on your dashboard.

Either before or after your meal at CM, head into Magic Kingdom via monorail. Part of the fun of a trip to WDW is seeing the sights the Resort monorail has to offer, so don't miss your chance to do so on that first day.

Enjoy your trip! Send more questions as you think of them; we love to help!
