Hi, we arrive in ORL at 2:30 PM, then take Magical Express to All Star Music Resort. We have ADR for 5:15 that evening at Luau Cove. Does that give us enough time? Are there better options closer for a fun "experience" that night? Any thoughts?

    Hi, Laura!

I love that you want to jump right into the fun your first night in Walt Disney World!  I think you could make your reservation time, however I would suggest just taking a taxi from your resort to the Polynesian.  This will cost you a few bucks (probably around $20) for the cab fare, but will save you time.  Figure about one hour travel time with Disney transportation and about 15 minutes by taxi.

If you would rather not spend the money on the taxi, then you might want to make alternate plans.  Some ideas:

-You can still head to the Polynesian for a fun evening.  Take your time getting there via the free Disney transportation, and grab a quick service dinner at Captain Cooks.  Enjoy your meal at the lovely outdoor patio then head to the beach for the Electric Water Pageant, fireworks, and even a movie under the stars!

-Hop on a bus to Downtown Disney.  Here you will find shopping, dining, and on some evenings even live entertainment at Disney's West Side.  You can even go bowling or see a movie.  There is so much to see and do, and there is easy bus transportation from your resort.

-Book a character dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.  This is a fun way to meet a bunch of your favorite Disney pals.

-Stay put at your resort!  Have a fun meal at your resort's food court, hop in the pool, and check the daily activity schedule.  Get to bed at a decent hour, and hit the ground running the next morning.

However you decide to spend your first evening in Walt Disney World, I hope it is the perfect start to your magical vacation!
