we arrive 10/20/12 with DD 4, DS 18mo. Surprise trip for the kids. We won't get there till 3pm on arrival day so we aren't getting park tix that day. DD is going to want to feel like she is at "Disney" right away. Chef Mickeys for dinner? Ideas?

    Hi Jennifer,

I think dinner at Chef Mickey's on your day of arrival is a brilliant plan!  Not only will your family get to meet and interact with Mickey and his famous friends, but you'll get to watch the iconic monorails glide overhead as you dine.  What a great way to kick off your Walt Disney World vacation!

I don't know what your children's bedtimes are, but if they are still awake when the Wishes fireworks spectacular is shown, that's another fabulous way to introduce your kids to the magic of Disney on day one.  If you wish to do this, I suggest you board the monorail at Disney's Contemporary Resort after dinner with Mickey and ride over to Disney's Polynesian Resort.  Watch the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the beach behind Disney's Polynesian Resort.  If the fireworks are too late for your children, you could still take them on a ride on the monorail before calling it a day.

Wishing you and your family a truly magical vacation, Jennifer!  Let us know if you need any additional assistance as you plan your trip.
