Does the AOA have an elevator to get to the higher floors? My husband and I have mobility issues and my Daughter has DS and will need a stroller to get around for the long days. Can we request a LM room on the main floor closest to the main entrance?how?

    Hey Susan-

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. At Disney’s Art of Animation Resort your family can live in the world of Simba, Lightning McQueen, Ariel and Nemo. This is the newest value resort and we loved it. The Big Blue Pool is enormous, fun and adorned with a splash pad for the kids. My sons spent all day at the pool including a splash pad battle. We were in a Lion King Suite where everyone had a bed and a comfortable place to sit and eat. The kitchenette is perfect.

Just down the hall from our room in the center of the building were the elevators. These were so convenient because they allowed my mother who recently had a foot injury to get to our room. When you are there take notice of the beautiful artwork on the wall across from the elevator doors. At The Lion King Suite building we loved hearing the elevator door bing to see smiling images of our favorites, Rafiki, Scar, Zazu and Pumba. Of note, all Walt Disney World Resort hotels have elevators.

You may call Disney reservations at 407-WDISNEY (407-934-7639) and put a request in for a number of options for each resort. I would do this 14 days before your check-in date. Highest room, low floor, near elevator and near lobby are some options available at certain resorts. Also when you check-in to your resort online through My Disney Experience you may put in room requests. I would suggest calling three days before your arrival to confirm your requests. They may or may not be able to fulfill everything you ask for but they will surely try.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories!
