At AOA how comfortable is the sofa that folds out to a bed. Does it have those bars that go up your back or is it like an air mattress? An adult would be sleeping on this bed and wanted to make sure it felt like a bed not a typically sofa bed.

    Hi Libby,

I have stayed at the Art of Animation resort several times. I love all the gorgeous artwork and the food court is amazing.

There are three sleep surfaces in the family suites: a regular queen-sized bed, a pull-down table Murphy bed, and a pull out couch. The bed and the table Murphy bed are both quite comfortable - they have solid, non-bendy mattresses.

The pull out couch is a fairly standard pull out couch. The mattress folds and there is a support bar in the middle of the bed. I've slept on this before. For me, it's fine for a night or two, but I'd probably get frustrated sleeping on it for an entire week. My kids don't seem to have any issues with it at all.

I'm not sure what your family's situation is, but if you could have an adult sleep on the table bed instead of the pull out couch, then he or she would probably be more comfortable.

If you can't picture the table bed, you may want to look at some photos on the independent fan website Touring Plans. (Cut/paste into your browser.) http://blog.touringplans.com/2012/06/07/staying-at-the-art-of-animation-resort-info-for-the-grown-ups/

Overall, if been extremely happy with my stays at AoA. It's a terrific option for larger families.

    Have a great trip!
