Can anyone suggest what the best cruise ship is for two boys that are 8 & 10? I am so confused and I am thinking of booking for 2015 but I am totally lost. Also, do you think a 7 day is too long or should I start with a 4 day?

Welcome aboard, Melanie! My family and I have sailed on all four of Disney's pixie-dusted ships, and I can honestly tell you that no matter which ship you choose, you're in for many magical memories!

Let's start with the length of the cruise. If it is within your budget to take a seven-night sailing, book it! Believe me, cruising with Disney is not something you have to work up to by taking shorter sailings and then finally a longer one. In fact, no matter how long you're onboard, you'll most likely come to the final morning and feel like you didn't get to experience everything you wanted and you'll be left wishing for just one more day! There is so much available for everyone in the family onboard and in the ports of call that the longer you sail, the more you'll get to experience.

Now, as for which ship, that really depends on the itinerary and time of year that you sail. Boys your sons' ages love the recently re-imagined Disney Magic for many reasons, but the best being Marvel's Avengers Academy. This new addition to the Oceaneer Club is my son's favorite spot on the ship. He loves "Become Iron Man" when kids get to virtually try on Iron Man's suit. Pretty amazing! Plus, Captain America is usually onboard the Magic which is another highlight for my son.

Now, super heroes aside, the other clubs on the three other ships are wonderful too! Plus, each ship has fabulous water activities like the AquaDuck water coaster on the Dream and Fantasy, the AquaDunk steep drop water slide on the Magic, and a fun Mickey slide on the Wonder. And I haven't even mentioned the other activities available!

So, my advice is to play around with the different itineraries, sail dates, and ships, and find the one that best fits your budget. That's really the most important thing, as you'll have a great time no matter which ship you choose, Melanie.

    Have fun planning!
