Is anyone aware of any plans for festivities for Veteran's Day 2011 at the Magic Kingdom? We are scheduled for a visit Nov.9-13 and want to be at some ceremony since we have several veterans in our family. Thank you

    Hi Emily!

Disney has not announced any special events for Veteran's Day.  However, there is the daily flag ceremony in the Magic Kingdom that I think would be appropriate and meaningful to your family.  The daily flag ceremony includes an honor guard of Walt Disney World Security Officers, the Main Street Philharmonic marching band, and the Mayor of Main Street.  The Dapper Dans, a barbershop quartet,  also participate by singing "God Bless America".  Each group of veterans will be called up by service (e.g. Air Force).  It's a very moving ceremony.  You just have to be in Town Square at the right time; just check the Times Guide when you arrive at Magic Kingdom in the morning.

Have a fabulous and magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
