We are anxiously awaiting our arrival on Feb 27th with our 9 yr old and 5 yr old. We purchased a dining plan and are wondering if we need to make dinner reservations for every night? We hesitate to commit every night as we don't know how the days will go

    Hi Susan!

Disney in February sounds great! Less traffic, shorter lines, sigh...

If your evening looks full (park hopping, stopping at shows, watching fireworks), then maybe plan for a quick service meal that evening vs. a table service. We would schedule a table service during a busy evening, and literally found ourselves running to some of the restaurants (they also charge if you miss your reservation, or don't cancel 48 hours in advance, which can sting).

What our family would do some days is plan an early dinner, so we could have the rest of the evening to enjoy the parks, parades, and not have to worry about stopping in the middle to sit down and eat. Then, later in the evening you can get a snack if you have the credits, or just purchase something small.

But some restaurants are worth sitting (Coral Reef, Cape May come to mind), and others are character meals, something to consider for the children. If you like taking pictures with the characters, it's so much easier at a character meal (where they come to you), then the Meet and Greet's at the parks (where you go to them).

If you have must do's at the Parks, just try to spread out your times, giving enough time between the event and the reservation, in case the event or ride takes longer than expected.

If you're staying at least a week, we would do at least one day with no reservations, so we could be flexible the entire day.

Good luck! Hope you and your family have a magical time!
