Hi You just answered a question for me about taking my mother in law to Disney in December. I was wondering what you thought of Coronado Springs? It looks beautiful. How is it in relation to the parks?

    Hello again, Patricia!

Thanks for writing me back with your question about Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

The architecture and ambiance of Coronado Springs evoke Spanish-colonial Mexico and the American Southwest. The resort is comprised of three separately themed sections (Cabanas, Casitas and Ranchos) and is located about halfway between Disney's Animal Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios theme parks. Transportation to the four parks and Downtown Disney is via Disney's complimentary bus service.

A stay at Coronado Springs certainly won't disappoint: the resort features nicely appointed guest rooms, an incredibly themed main pool (complete with a replica of a Mayan pyramid!) and good dining options (both table-service and quick-service). The Pepper Market food court is one of the most colorful on Disney property and features an excellent variety of items on its menu. It's open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Something to keep in mind is that Coronado Springs has nearly twice the number of guest rooms as does Port Orleans French Quarter. Just as a comparison, Coronado Springs has 1,921 rooms while Port Orleans French Quarter has 1,008 rooms. One of the factors contributing to Coronado's larger size is the Convention Center located at this resort. To have the shortest walk to El Centro, the main building (housing the lobby, dining and shops), I recommend requesting the following buildings: Cabanas 9B or Casitas 1 or 3. Try to avoid staying in the Ranchos section, which will require a 10- to 15-minute walk to El Centro.

I hope this information helps in choosing your resort, Patricia. Please don't hesitate to follow up with me again if I can assist you further.

    Have a magical vacation!
