hi annual passholder here and floridian, with a 3yr. old boy who i would love to take on the dumbo and carpet rides at disney but am afraid he will freak out while up in the air any suggestions on how to handle this one?

Hi Dawn.   That's an interesting question.  Here are a few suggestions I can offer.   If getting him to ride is the issue, kids similar to your sons age are continually riding Dumbo and similar attractions.   I suggest pointing out a few other children his age that are in line and/or are coming off the attraction.   Also, reassuring your son that you will be there to hold him may help.   It made my kids feel more comfortable and typically before the ride was over, they were telling me I didn't need to hold them so tight.

The other piece of advise is that certain of these kids rides have controls in the car that are used to raise / lower the cars as well as tilt forward and back.   You may want to consider one of the rides first so he can get comfortable with the idea of being lifted in the air.   Also by allowing him to take control, it leaves it up to him as to how much movement he prefers.    Hope this helps!
