Hi, where and when are animation classes held at Disney quest? Are there any tours of animation studios, any classes anywhere?

Hi Leslie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Although DisneyQuest will be closing its doors July 3rd in order to make way for a new, exciting attraction, Guests still have a bit of time left to participate in all of its interactive offerings! There is indeed an Animation Academy at DisneyQuest where you can learn how to draw your favorite characters. You will be in a small group of up to 18 participants and follow the instructions by the animator which will be displayed on a large screen. There is no additional charge to participate in this activity, however, if you want a print-out of your work of art (and I am sure you will!), there is an additional purchase fee. You can find Animation Academy on the 2nd floor of DisneyQuest and classes run continuously throughout the day, I suggest asking for the daily schedule when you arrive.

Another option for budding artists is the Teach to Draw classes held at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. These complimentary classes are open to all Walt Disney World Resort Guests and are geared mainly for children, but there are many adults who love to participate, too! Although the schedule is subject to change, it runs from Thursday to Monday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. All you have to do is show-up near the front desk, no need to enroll!

Although there are no animation studios tours available at the moment, you might be interested in the Backstage Magic or Disney's Keys to the Kingdom Tour which both offer an interesting peak behind the curtain, so to speak!

I hope your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is filled with animation magic!
