Hi. We are going to Animal Kingdom and plan to get their before rope drop so we can head over to Pandora. We understand that people are let into the park before park opening to queue for FOP and Na'vi. How does this work on Extra Magic Hours days?

Hi, Michael! My older daughter and I experienced Pandora - The World of Avatar during Extra Magic Hours this past December, so I have a few tips for you. One thing you did not mention is whether or not you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Only guests staying at a Resort hotel or select partner hotels are eligible for Extra Magic Hours. If you are not, then I want to urge you to reconsider your plans to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Park on a day it hosts morning Extra Magic Hours. By the time the park opens to regular guests, the wait time for Avatar - Flight of Passage will be quite lengthy. If there is any way to visit on another day, then do consider visiting then so that you can make better use of your time.

During my experience last December, the crowd was addressed several times before the park opened that the park was hosting Extra Magic Hours and guests staying off-property were directed to queue in another specified area. Well ahead of the posted Extra Magic Hours beginning, we began bag check and then headed to await entrance. We were allowed to scan our theme park tickets a few minutes later and directed to the path to the left of the Oasis. There, a Cast Member scanned MagicBands to determine Extra Magic Hours eligibility. Make sure you have those MagicBands handy! Once approved, we could proceed up to the Tree of Life and wait for the slow, careful walk to the Valley of Mo'ara. All guests who were not eligible for Extra Magic Hours were held to the side of bag check and began the same admission process I described above closer to the posted regular opening time.

I hope this helps you plan an easy morning at Pandora - the World of Avatar! Please let me know if you have any other questions about experiencing this beautiful land!
