    Charles from ME Asked

Is Animal Kingdom still offering the Picnic in the Park option? I was not able to find a link on the website. Where might I be able to go to read more about it? Thanks.

    Hi Charles:

As of January 2, 2010, Picnic in the Park became a seasonal offering and is not currently available. The good news is that Animal Kingdom is still planning to offer the Picnic in the Park option in the future as a seasonal offering. However, at this time, there is no set return date. So I would encourage you to check back periodically to see if the seasonal dates are set.

As you probably know, Disney's Animal Kingdom's Picnic in the Park is a wonderful meal program designed to help guests plan meals for 2 or more people in Animal Kingdom. While details of the program are subject to change, guests place an order for one of two tiers of picnics, generally consisting of a choice of sandwiches, chicken, or ham as well as choices of sides, dessert, and water. Orders are placed at the podium in Discovery Island or Guest Relations between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Pick-up time is generally two hours later at Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery (near Tusker House restaurant) or Dinobites (near DinoLand U.S.A), depending on the tier ordered. This gives you some time to enjoy the park while waiting for your food. Your food comes in a reusable bag with plates and utensils. You can then bring your food to enjoy at several designated picnic locations in Animal Kingdom.

To read more about Picnic in the Park, you may want to visit allears.net or wdwmagic.com and search for Picnic in the Park. While waiting for Picnic in the Park to return, guests can create their own picnic by creating a grab 'n' go bag at Beastly Bazaar.
