Hi Andi! Sure is nice to have a DCL expert on this panel. :) We sail on the Dream next Sunday. Do you know if we can go right to our stateroom when we board? Also, about how long do we wait for luggage (have 11am arrival time)? Wondering what to carry on.

Oh, thanks, Jennifer! I love everything to do with Disney parks and resorts, but I do take a particular shine to my fellow sea-faring Disney guests!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the Disney Dream -- are you about to pop from excitement or what?! Having just stepped off the ship yesterday...I can honestly report that the Disney Dream is about as eager and ready for you to sail as you are!

When your boarding group is called, you'll make your way through the gangway corridors where you will present your Key to the World Card (stateroom key) as they officially account for each guest in your traveling party. Then, you will have your pre-boarding picture made, and the photographers will need one stateroom key per family to record the photo. Then, it's over the gangway and into the atrium lobby where you'll hear, "Welcome aboard the Disney Dream!"

There will be many cast and crew members milling around the lobby answering questions and directing traffic, but prior to 1:30 p.m., you really can't access your stateroom. You can get a bite to eat at Cabanas (Deck 11) near the pools or head down to Enchanted Garden (Deck 2). Most of the time, boarding begins at 1 p.m., but I have been able to board as early as noon. It just really depends on how quickly the ship is ready for the next guests. Usually, luggage starts arriving in staterooms about a couple of hours after you've boarded. Therefore, I highly recommend packing a day bag complete with swimsuits and a small container of sunscreen.  (If you're flying, learn from my senseless mistake and don't pack the big bottle of sunscreen in your airline carry on thinking only of your cruise day bag!)

I hope that helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical Disney Dream vacation. Bon voyage!
